What sets Van Leeuwen apart is not only its product expertise but also the services behind it: cutting, heat treatment processes such as quenching and tempering, straightening, JIT delivery programs, safety stock and consignment stock, supported by Van Leeuwen’s global network. This is combined with a strong market focus, as seen in Germany where Van Leeuwen has developed a dedicated strategy for the drilling segment across the entire country by aligning its assortment closely with what the market needs.
Van Leeuwen supplies a wide range of materials for demanding drilling applications, including high-strength alloy bars for drill rods and adapters, as well as seamless tubes, hollow sections and structural components for drilling machines. This also includes seamless and welded cold drawn precision tubes, meeting the high requirements of drilling equipment manufacturers worldwide. While seamless hot-rolled tubes are widely used in Europe, welded cold drawn precision tubes are more common in the United States, making Van Leeuwen’s broad offering particularly valuable for customers supplying global markets.
The drilling sector is currently facing several challenges. Increasing competition from Asia and regulations such as Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and safeguard measures add further complexity. By working with multiple mills and maintaining strong partnerships with leading European producers, Van Leeuwen offers the flexibility needed to balance cost, reliability and availability.
Van Leeuwen remains committed to delivering the material expertise and value-added services its customers rely on every day – even beneath the surface.
The drilling industry is built on toughness, precision and absolute reliability. Whether it’s mineral exploration, geotechnical drilling or deep foundation work, every component must withstand extreme forces and unpredictable environments. Across this demanding sector, Van Leeuwen plays a crucial role as a trusted partner for several of the world’s leading drilling manufacturers and key regional specialists.
Van Leeuwen operates with a global Key Account approach steered by an Automotive Board. We combine global cooperation with local contact and act as one face to the customer. Supported by automotive competence centers across Europe, strong in-house processing capabilities and an extensive partner network, we support customers early in the development stage. Through integrated material, processing, supply chain and project management solutions, we enable reliable worldwide deliveries with local execution and global support.
Combined with our global network and long-standing relationships with major manufacturers, Van Leeuwen tubes are an important part of trucks.
Next to structural applications, our tubes also play an important role in engine and fluid systems. From oil lines and air induction systems to cooling water tubes, these applications ask for tight tolerances and reliable performance under demanding conditions.
In addition to ensuring security of supply and delivering tailored logistical solutions, Van Leeuwen provides a comprehensive range of value-added services, such as cutting, chamfering, machining, and surface treatments. This enables customers to receive ready-to-use components, helping them reduce complexity in their own production processes.
The truck industry is built on strength, reliability and precision. Every vehicle consists of a wide range of components depending on high-quality tube solutions. At Van Leeuwen, we are supporting this truck business across a wide spectrum of applications.
Van Leeuwen delivers tube solutions throughout the entire vehicle. Our products are used in structural safety components such as cross-members which are engaged when you pull the lever to manually adjust the position of the front seat. Also stabilizers and underride protection systems are part of our portfolio. This stabilizer bar is part of the suspension of a truck. It’s made and developed from a seamless high strength tube. Heléns, our location in Sweden, supplies the material just-in-time to a leading automotive customer, who in turn supplies the final part directly into the truck production. At the same time, Van Leeuwen supplies tubes for functional parts like mirror mounts, entry handholds and fender supports.
With over 10,000 m² of warehouse space and more than 6,500 tons of hydraulic components available, C+R HYDRAULICS ensures fast availability across its product groups: cylinder tubes (seamless, welded and stainless) and chromed bars and tubes. The company stocks over 1,000 dimensions covering a wide range of materials. These products supply industries such as mechanical engineering, automotive, offshore applications, energy, fluid power and B2B trading.
A big milestone was the opening of C+R HYDRAULICS’ central warehouse in Moosburg an der Isar, Germany in 2021. Equipped with advanced saw technology, the facility handles up to 350 cutting orders per week. To make sure every customer receives perfectly prepared components, tight tolerances and quality checks are being met.
We are proud to welcome C+R HYDRAULICS into the Van Leeuwen group. As part of our organization, we now add more than 40 years of specialized hydraulic expertise to our global offering. Founded in Munich in 1984, the company has grown from a conventional steel trader into a modern, service‑oriented hydraulic expert.
While C+R HYDRAULICS’ technical strength is a great asset, the organization is also defined by a customer‑focused way of working. With an international team across four locations, clear communication, extensive product knowledge and a strong commitment to reliable delivery is offered.
We are convinced that as part of the Van Leeuwen group, C+R HYDRAULICS is able to present our customers with an even wider range of products and services. The combination of high quality products, custom services and expertise offered by both companies, will benefit customers in many ways. As always, customers can trust the service level provided by C+R HYDRAULICS. Current contact persons will remain the same and will continue to support you as usual.
Royal Van Leeuwen is looking forward to building a strong future together.
