Dear Business Partner,

As the number one global pipe and tube distributor, Royal Van Leeuwen aims to be leading in its sustainability efforts. Our latest Sustainability Report shows our successful progress in this area. In 2024, we launched Van Leeuwen Impact, our own brand for CO2-reduced steel pipe and tube products. We increased the percentage of electricity from renewable sources from 59.6% in 2023 to 87.7% in 2024. Up to now, we have invested over 8.3 million euros in green electricity on our roofs. We are proud to have been awarded the EcoVadis silver medal, meaning we are among the top 15% of sustainable companies rated by EcoVadis.

Sustainable is also Van Leeuwen’s Annual Book 2024: after many years of paper editions, in April we have published our Annual Book online only. As in our previous printed editions, it includes our annual results, Management Board report, milestones, as well as interviews and stories on various of our customers and projects, in diverse markets and countries.

Especially in challenging economic and market circumstances, we profit from our spread across countries and market segments. Our customers benefit from more than a hundred years of experience and expertise. In this VL Connect we feature some of the projects that we have supplied for and customers we serve with our extensive range of products and services, including the sugar industry in Thailand and a water treatment plant in Sweden.

In 2024, we supplied material for the INEOS Project One, one of the largest CAPEX projects in Europe for the construction of a modern cracker plant with an 80% lower carbon footprint. Not only have we supplied 18,000 metric tons of pipes, fittings and flanges of various qualities. We also set up Dedicated Project Storage Areas (DPSAs) to supply this project in Antwerp. Dedicated teams provided on-site support and streamlined logistics, based on their project and logistics expertise and technical knowledge. Our strong global presence was also a defining factor in being chosen for this complex project.

The INEOS project is a perfect example of the meaning behind our slogan ‘more than tubes’. We always take that extra step, to make the customer connection and bring more to the table than the mere supply of our products and services.

Please enjoy reading this VL Connect.
