For a successful beginning, it was essential to find reliable customers and, above all, partner with trustworthy distributors. Even then, the narrative of Van Leeuwen and Uranie had already slowly unfolded, as we bet on Bergstaal in the Netherlands, Novex in Belgium, and Wheeler in the United Kingdom. A few years later, all those companies were acquired by Van Leeuwen.
In parallel with the development of Uranie, Mr. Lienard had the opportunity in 1989 to take over the company META MECA in Maubeuge, its main competitor in France. From that point forward, our business relationship with the former BENTELER Distribution companies of Van Leeuwen was initiated.

Uranie International was founded in 1986 by Mr. Alain Lienard. After managing a CNH company producing hydraulic cylinders, he wanted to set up his own company to produce a high-quality chromed bar in an industrial and productive way. To achieve this, he did not hesitate to adopt a new chrome plating process that allowed him to get ahead of his competitors very quickly.
