Dear Business Partner,
This year the Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group celebrates its 100 year anniversary. “Connecting worlds”, theme of this centennial year, is about continuity in business, sustainable growth, and innovative entrepreneurship in our family-owned company.
Throughout our international network, Van Leeuwen companies have organized events for their local customers, business relations and their teams to celebrate this centennial year. We are proud of our milestone and who better to celebrate this with than our esteemed and loyal customers, business relations, and dedicated colleagues? A Sustainability Week was organized by all our companies, in which trees were planted, walks taken, healthy lunches eaten, and trash picked up in the neighborhood. We have organized events for our customers in Hungary, Poland, Italy and the Netherlands, and a supplier event for our key partners in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands. You can read about these events in this VL Connect.
In this issue of VL Connect you can read about Guðmundur Arason, Iceland’s largest iron and steel import company with which our partnership started more than 50 years ago when our founder Piet van Leeuwen met this company’s founder Einar Asmundsson. You can also read about nuclear power, automotive and sprinkler systems, just a few examples of the many markets we service with our wide range of products. And last but not least: on the 9th of July, Van Leeuwen announced the launch of its own brand for CO2-reduced steel pipes and tubes; VL IMPACT. As one of the largest, leading pipe and tube distributors in the world, we aim to be a frontrunner in conducting and maintaining sustainable business in the entire supply chain.
This VL Connect is full of examples illustrating our theme “Connecting Worlds”: continuity in business, sustainable growth, and innovative entrepreneurship. Continuity has always been one of our core values. With our spread across market segments, our worldwide network with 70 offices and warehouses in 32 countries, and especially our team of 2,400 employees, we will always find innovative and sustainable ways to grow our business and find solutions for our customers.
