Throughout this green-themed week, each location organized a wide range of activities to promote sustainable living. Given the global nature of our initiative, we encouraged everyone to capture and share their experiences on social media and our internal platforms.
This was a week full of actions, enthusiasm, and new insights on sustainability.
There were activities such as trash picking, seminars, yoga sessions, vegetarian lunches and so much more. We offered the possibility to count your own CO2 footprint as well as take training sessions on sustainability.
- Caroline van Nieuwkerk, Executive Board member HR & Sustainability
As a 100 year old family business, we find it incredibly important that we pass on our company to the next generations in the best possible way and we want to take responsibility for a sustainable way of doing business. Our sustainability policy touches all parts of our company and we are proud that we are making good progress on our chosen themes.
On April 22nd, we proudly launched the first Van Leeuwen Sustainability Week. As part of our centennial year celebrations, we dedicated a full week to sustainability. As a 100-year-old family business, we assume our responsibility for the Environment, People and Society. Only by treating the world and one another with due care can we pass on the baton to new generations and keep the earth livable.
