Starting from the beginning of 2023, Van Leeuwen Czech Republic's customers can count on having their orders processed even more efficiently and faster. At the present time, our branch in Vyškov is putting the last touches on the expansion and renewal of its warehouse, which will be equipped with a fully automated honeycomb storage and order picking system. ‘In the near future, we will also be able to better serve our growing customer base in surrounding countries, such as Slovakia, Hungary, Austria and Poland,’ says Hans Zondervan, Managing Director of Van Leeuwen Czech Republic.

Van Leeuwen is expanding its warehouse in Vyškov, Czech Republic, from 13,000 m2 to over 18,000 m2 to be able to even better respond to the growing demand of its customers.

At the present time (beginning of October, ed.), the new storage and order picking system is being built, with more than 2,500 cassettes in which the pipes and tubes will soon be stored. Next the rails, the system’s main crane and the two auxiliary cranes will be installed. This system is to be completed by the end of December 2022.

‘With this investment, Van Leeuwen improves the speed and reliability of the order process.’ says the Managing director. Operators no longer will have to unload racks with pipes to relocate them to the shipping zone. The fully automated honeycomb storage and order picking system with the cranes will automatically bring the pipes and tubes to them. ‘Parallel to the new honeycomb system we are setting up a new cutting zone with multiple types of saws that enables us to immediately cut the pipes to size for our customers,’ says Zondervan.
