"Van Leeuwen and the mills got the job done; we’re very pleased to have been awarded this order for large bore pipe and fittings for the Cracker portion of the project. We look forward to further work on Dow's massive Path2Zero program."
Dow's portfolio includes plastics, industrial intermediates, coatings, and silicones businesses, providing a wide array of science-based products and solutions to customers in rapidly expanding market segments like packaging, infrastructure, mobility, and consumer applications. Dow is currently undertaking the Path2Zero project in Fort Saskatchewan, Canada. This initiative strives to establish the world's inaugural net-zero carbon emissions integrated ethylene cracker and derivatives site, specifically addressing scope 1 and 2 carbon dioxide emissions.
To support this endeavor, Van Leeuwen Canada has successfully completed its initial delivery of 76” piping material. This material is shipped from Asia to Dow’s project site in Fort Saskatchewan. Van Leeuwen has provided over 700 metric tons of piping, designated for water transport and intended for use in a utilities mega culvert. The primary objectives of Dow’s Path2Zero project are to reduce net annual carbon emissions and to meet the increasing needs of customer and brand owners seeking to lower the carbon footprint of their products.
First delivery
Dow’s proposed Path2Zero expansion project will create the world's first net-zero carbon emissions site with respect to scope 1 and 2 carbon dioxide emissions. The material supplied by Van Leeuwen is required for early-works in the project. Van Leeuwen will endeavor to turn the success of winning this initial scope into future orders as the Path2Zero project progresses.
