Dear Business Partner,
For many businesses in our markets, present times are challenging. Global geopolitical developments, regulatory changes, and shifting supply dynamics continue to influence demand and investment decisions. At the same time, we see resilience across industries and a growing focus on efficiency and automation. These developments shape not only the challenges ahead, but also the opportunities for leading companies prepared to adapt.
Digitalization continues to play an important role in improving supply chain efficiency. Through solutions such as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Automated Certificate Creation etc. we enable faster, more accurate and fully integrated processes, supporting closer collaboration with our customers. Royal Van Leeuwen is spending great efforts to lead with this efficiency effort.
The measures implemented by the EU, such as CBAM and the (expected) new Safeguard quota create many questions with our customer base. Rest assured that, through our strong network of key suppliers, we – and therefore our customers – are assured of sufficient supply of piping materials. Your Royal Van Leeuwen contact person will be happy to explain to you in more detail the possible price effects and supply challenges resulting from these measures. Especially in the welded pipe and stainless steel product groups price fluctuations are significant.
Royal Van Leeuwen continues to support customers worldwide with expertise, reliability and a broad range of solutions. We expanded our capabilities and stock assortment in high-grade materials. Our specialist brands such as Teuling and Corrotherm strengthen our position in Duplex and super alloys, allowing us to serve increasingly complex product specifications mainly in the Offshore and Process industries.
Our Global Project Organization remains a key strength in executing large-scale and complex projects. We see lower activity levels in the downstream segment but additional demand for pipelines both for O&G and for water. We recently had some success in both Canada and Malaysia to supply large gas pipelines.
Early this year, we were proud to welcome C+R HYDRAULICS to the Van Leeuwen family. C+R, based out of Bavaria, Germany, is a leading distributor of hydraulic materials. Their stock depth and width especially in chrome-plated bars and cylinder tubes together with their product knowledge and flexible supply lines makes them truly a champion in their field. Together with our Van Leeuwen Precisie company in Deventer and our HPL assortment across Europe, Royal Van Leeuwen is now truly the market leader in the hydraulic segment in Western Europe.
Across all these developments, one thing remains constant: our commitment to being a reliable partner. By combining global reach with local expertise, and by continuously investing in innovation and sustainability, we aim to support our customers in navigating change and achieving long-term success.Last but not least: Van Leeuwen recently published its annual results 2025. You can read our full Annual Book on our website. In this VL Connect edition, we also include some highlights.
Thank you for your continued trust in Van Leeuwen. I hope you enjoy reading this edition of VL Connect.
