Boiler tubes in stock

Van Leeuwen sees potential in the market for boiler tubes. Therefore Van Leeuwen GmbH in Essen, Germany (specialized in Process & Power) has started a new stock program in alloyed boiler tubes for the German market. The first stocks are arriving, and the first orders have been booked.

Meikel Pitsch, Commercial Director Van Leeuwen Germany Process & Power: “With our boiler tube stock program we are not only opening a new chapter by expanding with a new field of business, we are also strengthening our offer and position in particular in the traditional project business.”

"This investment not only increases capacity, it especially improves the speed of output and service levels. At the same time, we are developing our e-business in support of this new investment. Vyškov’s strong distribution capability will continue to be developed to further support markets in the region.”

The SwinSolar project was initiated at the end of 2021. A solar photovoltaic installation will be installed on the roof of our warehouse in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands. This installation is expected to be put into operation over the course of 2022. The installation will have a 5 megawatt peak capacity, which provides for all of our own electricity needs throughout the Netherlands and in addition, enables us to return sufficient power to the grid to meet the electricity needs of over 1,300 households.

A number of smaller solar initiatives has also been started up elsewhere in Europe. For example, a plan is currently being developed by Van Leeuwen in Duisburg, Germany, for 2,000 panels with a 750 kilowatt peak capacity. The electricity generated by this installation will be stored in batteries for use during the night or when there is little sunlight.

The members of the steering group for the investment project for our Vyškov location in the Czech Republic, Torsten Beer, Karin Rose and Eric Veraart, visited the location to kick-off the construction of Phase 1.

The current warehouse capacity will be expanded in phases by 5,300 m² to a total of 18,300 m². A KASTO honeycomb storage system will subsequently be installed in part of the new addition.

This investment not only increases capacity, it especially improves the speed of output and service levels. At the same time, we are developing our e-business in support of this new investment.

It was decided to store our future stocks in moisture-free areas. This required the roof to be replaced and insulated.

The Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group supplies its products and services to a highly diverse range of markets and customers. In mid-2020 we redivided our markets into six different segments. We will highlight one segment at a time in different VL Together issues. This time, Jörg Hassler, Commercial Director of Van Leeuwen Germany and Mechanical Engineering Circle Team Lead, will have the floor. He tells us about what we have to offer our customers and what is happening in this market segment.
