We are proud to share that Royal Van Leeuwen has been awarded an EcoVadis Gold Medal. With a score of 83 points, we rank among the top 5% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis over the previous 12 months and among the top 3% of companies in our industry sector.
EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading sustainability rating platforms and assesses companies across four main themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. The rating gives companies and their customers a clear and independent view of their sustainability performance.
Our Gold rating is a great step forward compared to last year and showcases the progress we have made across all four themes. Royal Van Leeuwen has made substantial improvements in the areas Environment and Sustainable Procurement; a good example of the efforts made throughout our organization.

For our customers, having access to verified environmental data is becoming increasingly important when assessing the impact of products and making more sustainable choices. With this first EPD, we are taking an initial step towards making this information more easily available and supporting sustainability discussions throughout the supply chain.
This is our first publication, but an important step in further improving transparency around the environmental impact of our products.
We will continue to develop EPDs and strengthen our sustainable offering over time. We anticipate a growing market demand for more sustainable product alternatives and increased transparency regarding environmental performance. By expanding our EPD portfolio and enhancing the environmental data available for our products, we aim to support our customers in making informed and responsible purchasing decisions.
The EPD covers water pipes in the 400–1400 mm dimension range and is now available through the International EPD System (environdec.com), where it can be found in the EPD library by searching for “Van Leeuwen”.

An Environmental Product Declaration is an independently verified document that provides standardized and transparent information about the environmental impact of a product throughout its lifecycle. This includes data on CO₂ emissions, as well as other environmental indicators.
